Did you know about the benefits of turf for your yard?

Grasses trap as much as 12 million tons of dust and dirt a year. An acre of grass absorbs hundreds of pounds of sulfur dioxide a year.

Healthy lawns slow water runoff, preventing erosion of valuable topsoil. Turf-grasses increase filtration of water and clean the water as it passes through to underground water supplies – actually reducing pollutants and contaminants.

Turf-grasses absorb carbon dioxide – a factor that can help reduce global warming.

Grassed areas can reduce noise levels by 20% -30%.

All by itself, a well-maintained lawn of 6,000 – 9,000 sq. ft. would produce enough oxygen to meet the needs of 1 person for one year.

On a block of 8 average houses, front lawns have the cooling effect of 70 tons of air conditioning. Lawns are important in reducing temperatures and can be 20 degrees F cooler than asphalt and 10-14 degrees cooler than bare soil.

Well maintained lawns and landscapes can add anywhere from 5%-15% to a property’s value.
